Our baby is not a container baby and he was extremely sensitive and finicky about car seats, strollers. But putting him in carriers was one of the worst experiences for him, so it took awhile to find the right one that worked for both parent and child. Enter: The Colugo. The first carrier that he tolerated was the Nuna Cudl, but then he grew to hate it as it didn't support his head as grew taller. We graduated eventually to the BabyBjorn Air Mesh, which was the first carrier he wouldn't cry in and we managed to get him over the hurdle of spending some time in carriers. But the BabyBjorn was still pretty bulky to store, doesn't have pockets and the front infant support flap wouldn't stay folded down when we flipped him to forward-carry, which made our baby upset when it hit him in the face. Members of our family had used the first generation Colugo and loved it, so we decided to give it a try. So far, it's taken care of numerous things we didn't like about our past carriers. It's lighter than the BabyBjorn, you can fold it up easily for storing or traveling, and it has tons of pockets. Our baby also seems to be the least fussy in this carrier, which is huge bonus points. So for that reason, we've kept it and use it. However, it's still not perfect fit for what we have been hoping to find in a carrier. Like the BabyBjorn, the front flap has issues, especially if you have a wiggly baby. Our front fold snaps are difficult to snap and won't stay snapped. They are placed too high up, so it requires a lot of tugging to get the flap down far enough to reach the snap connector and then a lot of fumbling to get the snap to click. Whenever our baby bends forward in the carrier, curving his spine just a bit to reach something, the left side snap pops out. The snaps are rather difficult to resnap when you're wearing the carrier. The snaps placement also gets in the way of the drool bib cover, it covers the snap connection points, so the cover won't stay on. We also find that the front fanny pack doesn't stay snapped on well either, it snaps off one side if you are apply pressure on the pack when digging your hand around inside to get your phone and keys out. We reached out to support for help with our carrier issues, included sending photos to show that where our Colugo snaps are placed is quite different than where the snaps are in the stock image photos and in online tutorial videos for carrier wear and attaching the drool bib. They were extremely gracious and responsive, they sent us a new carrier to see if it was a manufacturing/assembly issue with the snaps. Unfortunately, the snaps were even higher up on the second carrier we received compared to the first one. At least the flap doesn't flip up in our baby's face like the BabyBjorn, it just slightly uncurls a little bit and covers our son's mouth sometimes. At this point, we've just given up on spending the time and energy to find the perfect carrier and will deal with the snaps issue - when he gets a little taller his face also won't be anywhere near the flap. I will also say that it's not quite as comfortable as the BabyBjorn for me and I think it's a short-person/torso dimensions issue. I'm 5'4" and the waist strap pad digs into the top of my hip bones - my husband who is 5'8" doesn't have this problem. The weight of our son on top of the waist band pads pushes it down into my hips and it also makes having the fanny pack in front a little uncomfortable. I tried to wear the fanny pack on the back waistband, but I can't reach the zipper and easily pull my phone out. It's only mild annoyance, since our son doesn't like being in a carrier for more than 40-60 minutes, I probably won't wear it long enough to have it bother me a lot, but I'm rather bummed that the structure doesn't fit me as well.

I wanted to love it so much, but it fell short for me :( I’m on my second baby and am finding myself wearing him constantly for naps and to have hands available for my first. I’ve tried wraps, slings, and a variety of structured carriers and have my issues with all of them so I did a lot of research before buying this carrier. I was looking for a lightweight carrier with less bulky straps than most (e.g. Lille baby all seasons complete, ergo baby original bundle of joy, boba classic) which had enough storage for me to go out for a walk with the baby and no diaper bag (surprisingly few carriers have any meaningful storage, not even enough for a phone) so I thought this was the one! I also looked at them used and ended up simultaneously buying an old model because I liked the pattern. As much as I wanted to love it, I’m returning the new carrier because the older one was more comfortable and the design has a lot of issues for me. Pros: 1. Loved the idea of the detachable Fanny pack and how big it is. 2. It is lightweight/less bulky on the straps and the e sleep hood is very thin 3. I love the addition of zippers on either side of the body pocket because the old left side zipper (and left side zipper on the ergo classic) is more convenient for a lefty and I’d love to slip my phone in and out with my right. Cons: 1. New carrier’s waist strap design is not ergonomic for me at all (I am an average height woman between a size small and medium pants) - the waist strap on the new version is thicker and not tapered like the old/most carriers so it’s way too thick and stiff and digs into my hip bones with every step on the sides of the front pad. I’ve tried doing it up tighter/higher but it’s so thick that it just isn’t comfortable. I don’t know if it would have broken in over time but the shape and size seems better suited for a man/much bigger person and I believe I’m a more average size when it comes to baby wearers. I’m disappointed the new strap doesn’t bring more comfort despite having a lumbar pad. 2. Like others have mentioned the new buckles are SO difficult/annoying to undo (and I am a rock climber). It’s a pinch+downward motion and it’s very specific. Sometimes I’m able to engage one side of the mechanism but not the other and I’ve never been able to operate it with my non dominant hand. The old design was so much easier to undo (but a toddler might eventually figure it out?) 3. I thought the design allowing you to put your baby in from the front and not having to do a buckle behind your back awkwardly would be really convenient and that I was not using the “feed in carrier” feature of my carriers but I was wrong- if you are breastfeeding often and wearing for naps it’s not the most convenient because you can’t just undo the straps to let your baby out and feed right away, you have to take the baby out out, put them down, take off the carrier front (it covers my entire chest) and then feed. 4. The straps for the magnetic buckles are uncomfortable/in the way for my baby. He doesn’t seem as comfortable in this carrier because he can’t move his hands to his face as easily and has a lot of straps in his way, and if he falls asleep I have to pad the straps so it doesn’t cut into him. I think a classic style of carrier is just more comfortable for him with having less straps in his face and easier for me to use for naps and feeding. While there are a lot of features to love and it could be a good fit for someone else, it’s unfortunately a return for me and back to a more classic style carrier.

So easy to use and really fits our needs. I wear I around the house and my husband uses it when we go hiking. Very comfy and supportive we’re so happy we chose this one!

I bought this carrier because it had a lumbar support. I like the storage as well. I think the snappable Fannypack is a nice touch. It barely fits my iPhone 14 Pro Max. The only thing I can say is when I move the Fanny pack to the back with my iPhone 14 Pro max inside it falls off. So I’m assuming don’t carry anything super heavy in the back.

This is my FAVORITE carrier I have ever used. I bought one when I had my first baby in 2020, and I put it away with the intent of using it again if I had another baby. Well this year I had my second, and during a big move my carrier got misplaced and lost. It was bought again cause I loved it so much, however I've noticed they have changed some things on the carrier. Like the magnetic straps push in differently and are harder to open in my opinion. Also my buckle for the back support actually has a crack/break in it and I haven't even used it yet, just adjusted it for when we are ready to. It still snaps securely closed though. Either way I still love this carrier, I just liked the first version of it a little better? I think the magnetic closing buckles are the only things that are slightly different.

We had another carrier before this and it was always a hassle adjusting the straps and length to myself and with baby, this Colugo carrier makes that process so much easier. The fact that you can adjust the carrier to yourself first independent of the baby makes it fit so much better. I love the buckles which allow for easy adjustment. I'm 6'3 and my wife is 5'5 and we both can wear it easily with our baby. I would highly recommend this carrier.
