“I am very pleased with Comfort Built's quick response to my problem, and the replacement of my controller. Although the controller did not prevent me from using the stove, it was a nusance type problem. But this has now been fixed, thank you.
The stove keeps the front of my 2600 sq ft home warm ( living room, kitchen and dining room - about 1500 sq ft) even during the two weeks when we reached -18 degrees and my heat pump quit, Murphies Rule. We ran it on #3 during the day and #1 at night and still only used 1.5 to 2 bags of pellets per 24 hour period. Now that the heat pump is working, we run it on # 1 except when we first get up and like that extra comfort of #2 for our coffee time, and burn about 1 bag per day. Also we only have to clean it every 2 to 3 weeks and still only get about 1 to 2 gallons of ash per cleaning.
We used to use a wood stove (which was a pain for 80 year olds - cutting rounds, splitting, stacking and storing. Not to mention hauling it in each day.) Another benefit we discovered is that our electrostatic air cleaner only requires cleaning every 3 to 4 weeks, when with the wood stove we cleaned it every week.
Most of the other stoves we looked at locally cost between $4000 and $7000, but we paid less than $3000 and installed it ourselves.
Of course we already had the wood stove plumbed thru the ceiling, but we replaced the 6" on the room with the 3" double wall pipe and this worked out fine.
I guess it's not difficult to see why we rated the stove as a 5, as it's a great piece of heating equipment. Keep up the great work.
