“Respectfully,
My new ComfortBilt Pellet stove suffered two separate catastrophic failures involving the main power switch. Each failure event resulted in a complete shutdown. This stove is my sole source of heat and, each failure event occurred on a Friday which meant I had no support until Monday resulting in a very cold house.
The second power switch failure event resulted in a conversation with Tech Support suggesting the mother board be replaced as well the switch, which I replaced both. I was informed that ComfortBilt procured a defective lot of switches and were aware of premature failures. Why did you not recall these switches? Or, provide temporary 24-7 tech support until those switches were deleted from service.
I suggest the following:
1) Issue a recall for the switches and/or motherboard
2) Reengineer the main power switch and/or motherboard to mitigate premature failures.
3) Develop a 24-7 tech support line until such time your engineering department is able to design reliability into your product.
Our new ComfortBilt pellet stove is otherwise very nice and we love it when it is operational.
Respectfully,
Rick and Kathy Sparks”
