“A light application of the colorset pencil strongly highlighted the contrast between the correcting strip & my skin. A VERY thick coat of the colorset pencil was needed to make both the correcting strip and my skin opaque, but the strip was still very visible. Application of powder shadow & liquid blusher on top of the pencil did not make much of a difference. I thought the pencil was specially formulated so that makeup application looks the same from lid to strip. It does not. I am disappointed. Happy to include photos if that would help.”

You want to be sure to apply the strips correctly, so that the strip itself is transparent after being applied.
There are a couple of reasons why this may be happening: (1) you may have applied the strip by swiping across it rather than pressing and holding, the more you press the more it blends with the skin tone (2) the skin may not be fully dry or clean (no oils, makeups, or moisturizers) when applying the strip! We recommend using our Eyelid Prep Pads to prepare the skin optimally for LIDS BY DESIGN.
First be sure to place your LIDS BY DESIGN strips to the eyelid. The COLORSET is oil-free, so use the warmth of your skin to melt the pencil when applying onto your fingers, or your skin. Apply to the strips as much as you would prefer, be sure to blend. When we don’t use the COLORSET to blend, shadows can adhere to the strip differently than the skin, showing the strip to be visible. Apply any makeup as usual (matte eyeshadows work best), be sure to start at the edges of the strip. The COLORSET is designed to help your shadow pigments pop, be more resistant to water, and seal the edges of your strip for all day use.
