“This was planned to be our Boxing Day lunch and was a disappointment. The colour was grey-brown, the scent during cooking was not entirely as expected, but not wholly unpleasant. The flavour was acceptable although the colour was unappealing, but the real problem was the scent of the cooked joint: this was very bad and the joint was promptly dumped. I have not had Covid and my sense of smell is excellent. Past experience has taught me to take it seriously.”

“I was surprised not to see Nitrate free on the label but I do believe that it was because it discoloured quite rapidly which I understand and don’t find a problem. I threw away the first boiling water as instructed but even so we all found the joint a bit too salty and it had a peculiar taste and smell which I assume might have been to do with the nitrate free cure. It was very slightly off putting. Although the meat was pretty good and we ate it all I would not order this product again.”
