“Very very dark, almost black and had a strange 'mealy' smell. Also very bloody. (the cat enjoyed that!) the mealy flavour was still apparent when the livers were cooked. I fried them with onion, garlic, juniper berries and garlic, one of my favourite recipes, but it was not very nice, I'm sad to say”
