Looks like you purchased the stud in gold. Have you worn other gold jewelry before? Every now and then we get customers that are allergic to the gold plating we use on our pieces. Our titanium pieces might be a better fit for you!
There's also a possibility that if you touched the stud part without washing your hands first (most people don't wash their hands first, so no worries if this is the case!), something could have transferred to the metal from your hands.
