“I rather love this Dress Uniform. I am wearing it to a Christmas Party tomorrow, since I'm a geek and my idea of formal wear is sci-fi dress uniforms.
The jacket is well-made and comfortable. It is lined, and the braid at the collar and across the chest is close to what was used on screen. I have no complaints thus far about the construction of the jacket - though as with my Star Trek Into Darkness uniform from CosplaySky it does need a little finishing work- removing stray strings, etc. Having done that on my "real" uniforms, it's kinda par for the course.
The combadge that comes on this uniform is smaller than the screen-used ones, I recommend getting a metal combadge to replace this one. Also, the rank insignia at the shoulder are buttons. This is not correct, the shank on the back of the buttons makes them stand off the jacket, and lean forward. The proper rank pips would be pins or magnetic rather than buttons to avoid this issue. I have removed the buttons and will be wearing my own rank insignia instead.
Other than those issues, this is a GREAT piece and I can't wait to wear it for an event!”
