McLean's Something Blue Gin was originally crafted to celebrate the marriage of the makers Colin & Jessica in June 2018. Something Blue focuses on Colin & Jessica's two favourite botanicals; the Tonka Bean and the Buchu Leaf. Tonka Beans resemble small raisins with the nose of vanilla, marzipan and caramel, with hints of freshly cut grass, clove and magnolia. Buchu Leaves are native to Southern Africa and have an intriguing and invigorating fragrance with primary notes of blackcurrant, mint, mango and fresh, hand-rolled tobacco, with a herbal nuance. These botanicals are then combined with 5 secret botanicals to produce McLean's most unusual, exciting gin. Produced entirely by hand in small batches in Glasgow, the Something Blue Gin is made using a process first used in the early 17th century.
