My last pair of AT boots were ancient Kastinger 4 buckle boots from the late 1970's. After researching all of the lightweight AT boots on the market today for my purposes, backcountry touring, Haute Route, mountaineering, and exercise at the resort, I settled on Dynafit's TLT 6 Performance. I called Doug at CCBC and we went through the exercise of trying on all of the variety of boots from different manufacturers. Luckily, the TLT 6'd fit my foot the best. Having an expert like Doug do the fitting has really paid dividends in comfort. These boots fit my foot like a glove with no hot spots and all day comfort. Thanks man! I have found that all boots as long as they are light, have proper flex, and are fairly comfortable will work going up hill. But, it is the downhill performance, read that stiffness, coupled with the lightweight that is extraordinary with the TLT's. After trying the green and black tongue pieces, I have settled on the black for my purposes. Plenty stiff and has no noticeable impact on climbing. Boots are amazingly easy to get on and off while organizing the buckles, straps, and other bits & pieces, a pesty problem I have with downhill boots. This is important in the backcountry with cold fingers while bending over after a long sweaty climb. Transitions from uphill to downhill are super simple with the flick of one buckle, a flex of the ankle to make sure the upper is locked in, and tightening the Velcro on the top strap. Off you go. These boots are perfect coupled with the Speed Superlight bindings and the Nanga Parbat's. Again, thank's Doug. Great advice and great products.

I love this boot. I swear I have to wear more clothing now as I am so much less fatigued on the skin up (coming from Maestrale RS). I have skied it about 20 times now and continue to be impressed. At 6' 165lbs and an aggressive skier I tossed the stock liner and powerstrap in favor of Intuition PowerWraps and a expert level Boosterstrap. The stock liner skied ok, but with the PowerWraps the lower cuff height of the TLT6P was less noticeable and I found the boot skied VERY well. The booster strap is not only easier to use and adjust than a stock strap (Dynafit has gone to cam style for 2016 model), but dominates the flex pattern of the boot and gives it a smooth progressive flex. I dont mind touring in powerwraps but i am sure they limit range of motion somewhat compared to stock liners or ProTours. Anyway I am sure I could have tolerated the stock configuration, but I had the parts on hand and have become accustomed to (spoiled by?) PowerWraps and Boosters on all my boots since 2007. As far as fit I have a low volume, long foot with low arch (Vans/Adidas 10.5). I up sized from my alpine boots (26.5 Fischer Vacs) to 27.5 for these as I wanted a bit of room in the toe for skinning. I am extremely sensitive to oversize boots as I have a very flexible foot, and can report I have not had an issue with these. They are narrow enough to adequately support my foot (with custom footbed recycled from Maestrale) and have had zero pain. A few specifics, I almost always tour without the black tongue installed and the top buckle wide open. Always have lower buckle latched. Popping in the black tongues at the top is easy and worthwhile as they significantly stiffen the boots. That said for resort fitness laps or quick ups and downs they aren't necessary and I dont bother bringing them. The boot is soft but adequate. One gripe I have nicked the boots up a bit much I think for how many days on them so durability could be a concern. We will see how that shakes out over the next couple seasons. Honestly though provided these boots fit you I cant imagine how you could be disappointed.

This is simply an amazing boot! Light weight, grab cuff articulation, and very still. I love how fast you can transition from climb to ski! The boots are tough too, I have put in many huge days in the back country in these boots and they still look amazing! If they fit your feet you can't go wrong. My longest day has been 16 hours in these boots and while most other boots would be killing my feet by then, these were just as comfortable as when I put them on.
