“I have used a variety of nylon skins over the years from Ascension, Black Diamond and G3. I decided to give Pomoca Mohair Mix a try based on reviews in the hopes of getting better glide and lighter weight. The first day out their glide was disappointing - think Orange ascensions. But after a few days the glide has improved dramatically. They are a bit lighter and seem fairly resistant to glopping, although it has been a cold winter so far. The glue sticks reliably to skis and rips with less effort - my shoulders appreciate it. However, when folded glue to glue you are going to flex and grunt a bit. Too soon to speak to durability but so far, so good.”
“I think these skins have a good grip:glide:weight ratio. So far the glue seems to stick well without being way too sticky. Metal loops stay on ski tips well, and the tail clips work decently. A few times the tail clips have popped off, maybe I just need to tighten them a bit. Skin trimmer is a nice included tool, that helps you get an optimal skin width.
For reference I put these on DPS Wailer 112s.”
“The cutting tool that came with these skins is AMAZING. You can really cut each skin perfectly in two minutes once you have it on the ski. The skins glide well and I used them at the pass near Haines, AK yesterday and they didn't slip once on rather steep terrain. The glue is nice and sticky and I'm happy with the new metal tips the company switched to this year (instead of the adjustable loop tip that came with previous model). So far, I'm all around happy with these skins and highly recommend them.”
