NOTE: For full lift truck certification, you are required to take a mandatory pre-requisite: Core Competencies for Operators of Lifting Devices. If you haven’t completed this pre-requisite eLearning, Safe Operation of Lift Trucks with Core Competencies is the course you require.
Safe Operation of Telehandler Lift Trucks (SOTLT) is an eLearning course designed to enhance the performance of telehandler operators by making them aware of their environment, hazards, technical aspects of their device, product handling, and securement. This eLearning will also assist with operators understanding their responsibilities and their own behaviours as it relates to the safe operation of a lifting device. This training will enhance any prior training operators have had.
To obtain full certification, an employer, supervisor, or other qualified person is required to complete a practical evaluation upon completion of this eLearning. Anyone who purchases this course will receive access to Danatec’s Telehandler practical evaluation to achieve full certification.

I found the course focused to much on whmis and health and safety. Waist of time, way to repetitive. As a journeyman in the crane industry we do a lot of training yearly, we do not need to keep refreshing whimis and health and safety when we are doing a course on telehandlers. Course should be more focused on lift operations, load charts manouving etc. I was very disapppointed with this course, and do not recommend.

the information is there, but the web site is difficult to navigate which was very aggrivating. Also, two of the questions on the final exam conflicted with the course content. For example, the course says you require 8 hours supervised operation, and a question in the exam was whether or not this was a legal requirement. After answering yes, I was marked wrong, stating that the course writer merely recommends 8 hours of supervision. I reviewed the course content just to make sure I hadn't misread this. There was a second example, but I forget what it was for the moment.

Well-organized and formulated course. Narration would be a nice addition.
