“After camping in Scotland through autumn, I've only had a couple of proper winter days out with this jacket as my 'static insulation,' but so I'm seriously impressed by the Nessh. It's warm, light, feels well-built. The pockets, hood and cut are just how I want them to be. At this price, I can scarcely believe it.”
“The sleeve cuffs that I read about people being bothered by dont bother me at all. I hardly notice them when they are tucked up into the sleeve and they will be nice when I am hiking and want to wear gloves with this jacket. The pockets are very deep, and the jacket stuffs well into one of them.
The sizing ran a bit small for me (6'2", 210lbs) so the Large I ordered didnt quite fit me around the chest and shoulders but they processed my return quickly and I love my XL! I have no complaints with this jacket and would recommend it to all my friends!”
“Great jacket and love the ethos - "One Sold One Given"
Fab little touches (like the handwarmer cuffs)
Bit fiddly to pack into pocket and a little stuff sack would be more convenient.
Overall, love it :-)”
“Update:
I've had this for a few months now, and I live in this jacket on cooler days. It is my go to around the house, walking the dogs, or going to work jacket. It is really warm (fully zipped and hooded, comfortable at freezing). The material is so comfortable and cozy, it's like wearing the softest of down sleeping bags. I've tried other down jackets, and none feel as good against the skin as this.
I still see some room for improvements. Primarily if this jacket used treated hydrophobic down, and a better DWR. After light rain, my shoulders were wet through and it took a long time for the down to come back. I think if the outer face farbics was a slightly higher denier there would be less feather leakage (which isn't a lot, but I feel like there is always one feather/down coming out of somewhere).
I still highly recommend this jacket. Bottom line is it is the coziest down jacket, light, and packed with warmth. Hopefully updated model in the future with hydrophobic down and higher denier outer.
Original:
I recommend this jacket.
This jacket is wonderful, but has room for improvement like any product.
Pros: Amazing warmth to weight ratio (way warmer than my MH ghost whisperer); the cuff design is great, I usually tuck the thumb gators back and out of sight, but use them when the hands are cold (tucked in or not the cuffs make a good seal); the hood is really warm and the hood cinch works great; the zipper chin guard is comfortable; perfect amount of pockets and location; stashing into own pocket is always a plus; not overly shiney; shipping was super fast; buy one, give one is awesome.
Cons: The zipper is kind of a pain to get started and undo. There has been some down coming out of the jacket (though I've only been using for about two weeks and haven't washed it yet); the hem cinch works good, but a little time is needed to get it back to its original shape; the jacket looks good in the city or the mountains, but the hood not so much (the hood is really effective, but far from stylish). My main recommendations for the company would improve the zipper, and somehow make it so less down comes out.
Overall, I would recommend this jacket. It is warm, fairly priced, and the buy one give one is amazing. I would hope to see more models in the future that address some of my previously listed cons, but it is still a great jacket.”
“The NESSH Men's Lightweight Down Jacket is above and beyond what I expected based on the feature list. For example, the 2-way zipper was a known, but I had no idea just how beneficial this would be to adjust for ventilation. The wrist gaiters were initially a "might-like" for me, but now that I have used them, they are a "love" feature. I have had this jacket out in light rain and wind at ~15 mph sustained. The DWR held steady for the entire time (roughly 2 hours of that weather) with no wetout.
This is the jacket I measure others against now. Truly an excellent product, and one I am so glad I purchased. No complaints at all. I have, and will continue, to suggest Dark Peak to friends and those looking for exceptional gear.”
