“We bought a brand new 2007 Lexus 400H and after 11 years of owning the vehicle we noticed micro cracks all over the dashboard. We then called Lexus and told them about the cracking and
found out that Lexus had a recall for the cracking, and the recall had expired after ten years and they said they would do nothing for us.
We then looked for an option to remediate the problem and found DashSkin. After contacting
them, and having a good conversation regarding the repair of the dashboard, we felt comfortable enough to order a DashSkin cover, and they suggested two professional installers in our area.We had it installed professionally. It was a two day affair, the work was outstanding, and the
DashSkin fit perfectly. The only issue we have with the DashSkin (and don't laugh) the finish
is too shiny--we would prefer it to have a duller finish to look more like the original dashboard. ”
“Great product!!! I forget it's even on my dashboard!!! Just a tip on installing... put plenty of adhesive in the corners at the windshield and stuff rolled up microfiber towels into the corners until cure time has passed. Cut small pieces of foam and tape them to the sides where the door closes. Leave them till cure time has passed.
Great product. I could not be happier with the results.”
“Lexus needs to be paying Dashkin for this product and shipping it out to every customer who has an issue with their cracking dashboard. My husband and I fitted it in the car. It looks a lot better. Some spots took an extra day for the clue to stick. Can’t wait to sell the car … Lexus is not all it’s cracked up to be. Dashkin definitely saved the day. Thank you from a satisfied customer.”
“I think the Dashskin is amazing. It fit over my dash like a glove, with many different bends and curves blending right into the existing dash. I have a 2009 Lexus RX 350, and the dash had gotten sticky so that I could not brush dust off it. It looked unattractive. The dealer and a Google search informed me that the dash material for that year "melted" but there was no recall. To replace the dash with all the wires and equipment would have been cost-prohibitive.
The Dashskin was easy to install with just some dabs of provided silicon adhesive. I gave it a dry run and then installed it permanently in 15 minutes. No cutting or fitting was necessary. Except for an opening on top for the airbag you could not tell that the Dashskin is not the original dash material.”
“Very pleased with results. Main labor was in the PREP. I followed all suggestions and tips in the guide. Read it twice and take your time. I did a full mock install (no glue) with all weights and rods (you'll need them), took pics of my placements to re-do once I placed cover with glue, and marked off spots with painters tape. I placed the cover with glue by myself but it was very stressful because it's hard to choose right places to hold it and not get glue on your hands. Should've used a friend for that part but still went well thankfully. Save your extra glue. I had one or two spots not stay after first 2 days (in front by glovebox and on the sides where doors close. I simply did a second round of a bit more glue and leaving to sit for another day.”
“In a word...EXCELLENT!!! After receipt I placed the cover on the dash to let if acclimate in our climate here in Virginia. Car is garaged so leaving the cover in place for two weeks was the plan. After two weeks, I removed the cover, prepared my dash and proceeded to install the Dashskin cover. Allowed glue to cure in for 24 hours. The end result is amazing. Thanks Dashskin, my RX350 is looking like new.”
