DAVINCI IQ2 Vaporizer Reviews

3.9 Rating 366 Reviews
This thing is amazing. I've had it almost a month now and it is everything I hoped for. Smooth, sleek, and discreet. I'm still learning all the different features but the how too videos are a huge help. All and all worth every penny. It has changed how I smoke, as a disabled Vet this thing is my pain management and above all my go to for smoking!!

I've been using portable dry herb vaporizers ever since the first G pen came out. Until now, I have been underwhelmed by every device I tried. I would get too little vapor, inconsistent temperature, low-quality build, etc. This vaporizer is in a different world. Precise temp control, adjustable draw, varied oven size, ceramic and glass vapor path.....it has almost everything you could want. The one caveat is battery life. People are right that it can be an issue, so I just got another battery and an external charger. Problem solved, I'm never without juice AND portability.

I've bought 2 of these vaporisers, 1st gen (not the same but these use similar components and you don't have the older one listed anymore), and both broke down on me within 7-8 months of careful use with regular maintenance. Despite all the negative points I will talk about, the relatively short period of use I had from these vaporisers was enjoyable. However, that enjoyment fell to the way side because of the below issues I've had with both models of this device: - The digital display at the front did not display the correct information when indicating battery life and would turn off when the device supposedly had 2 bars. - The metal-plate coating on the bottom oven opening of the device located around the fill chamber and lid, scratches off with relative ease over time (I would expect polished, milled/injection moulded stainless steel for something that is marketed as using 'medical-grade' components, especially at this price point). - The little ball that presses down the herb, the rubber piece it was attached to, snapped off when trying to screw the ball back on (why would you make a threaded component soft rubber?). - The ceramic ovens ended up cracking through the middle (I never dropped the devices). Although this didn't effect usability it was disappointing to see but made sense when observing the fragile wall thickness of the ceramic oven, (only around 0.5 mm) - Due to the heat, the metal cover component located at the top, when you lift up the lid, ends up becoming loose and over time can be difficult to keep on. Due to the glue/resin holding it in place degrading over time/not being able to withstand the heat off the device, I'm guessing. - And my main issue, both devices became faulty with the same symptoms, it would start out small with the device randomly switching on and off, then it would escalate to the device heating up beyond a safe temperature (literally burning anything inside to a char) making the temperature controls useless, then again escalate to not working at all. Now when I turn on the devices they just vibrate indefinitely until I remove the battery. - There's also a rubber grommet that connects the ceramic oven to the airpath chamber, this is needlessly difficult to clean and gunks up really quickly - instead of the oils and resins being collected in the airpath they instead collect there. I understand that making a product, especially one such as this, is difficult, it requires countless prototypes, testing and R&D, there will inevitably be issues in first round products. However, given my experience and after close observation, I'd dare say there has been some questionable design and engineering decisions being made in the development of these products. "Easy to Clean and Built to Last", whilst the airpath is easy enough to remove, there are little nooks and crannies within the device that are not easy to clean and will not "Maximize the Flavor of Your Flower" and instead hinder the flavour, restrict the airway and tarnish your appreciation for the device. Apologies for the rough review but after spending 400 bucks for each unit, twice, I can say I'm thoroughly disappointed. I contacted you early November (2020) in regards to a couple of faulty vaporisers. I was told it would be replaced and I would receive tracking information later that week. I didn't end up receiving the tracking information the next week, so I asked whether or not I was sent the tracking info and was told there were delays and would receive it the week after. I still never received any tracking information, I emailed again but this time it fell on deaf ears. It's been about 2 months since I first contacted Davinci support and I haven't received any shipping information or replies in regards to a replacement.

I bought a Davinci Ascent back in 2014 and despite the usual battery degradation and a few drops (oops) it worked perfectly until early 2020. Actually, it still works, but the wire on the charger broke so i can no longer charge it. Money was tight at the beginning of the pandemic so I started smoking until I saved up enough money to get a replacement. Instead of replacing the adapter, I decided it was time to upgrade and tried to decide between a Mighty or another Davinci product. After some research, I thought that I had such a great experience with the Ascent, why change? And the size of the new IQ2 was such an improvement over the ascent so I bit the bullet and went for an IQ2. When it arrived, I was stunned! It was much smaller than i expected and I absolutely love the packaging. It is such an experience to open a Davinci package, I was already getting excited. I read through all the materials, charged up the IQ2 and got my herb ready. WOW! First, vaping is so much smoother than smoking joints. I was blown away by the smooth vapor quality, how it fit in my hand and how easy it was to use the device. I didn't use the programming features in the ascent, just the manual temperature controls, but now I am already used to the smart paths on the IQ2. I love the look and feel of it and can't wait for this pandemic to be over so I can go out and about with it. I love that you kept the pick tool. The oven is much easier to load than the Ascent. The replaceable batteries are genius! Too bad I can't download the iPhone app, but at least I can control all the functions on the device itself. Other vaporizers in the same class did not have this. For an improvement, the device is a bit slick and I feel it will slip out of my hands. So maybe some kind of grip. Also, accessories are hard to find, but I'll keep checking at retailers in my area. Davinci, you've done it again! I'm sure this will last me for another 6+ years and I can't wait to see what you have available then!

There should be cases or some type of protective sleeve for the IQ2. a $300 device should be offered with such things. The device is great, just would be cool is there were more accessories

I stopped smoking and switched exclusively to using a vaporizer, all with just this device. Easy to use, high quality product, easy to clean (there's not much mess to clean up anyway). I love it, would highly recommend it. It's pricey, but it'll pay for itself with how efficient it is.

Had the original IQ and it was subpar because of defects. The IQ2 fixed everything and works how it should. I love it.

I would have given it 5 stats if it's heat up time was faster but I'm not complaining works great for me. Burns all the flower if you stir it up. Easy to clean and with spare batteries no problems.
