“The overal design is neat and very practical. The finish is very discreet and the seal seems tight, keeping odors inside.
The magnetic lid helps if you're clumsy. Speaking of clumsynes: the magnetically-held brush can obstruct the closing chamber if it's not perfectly centered, and the holes at the bottom are puzzling if you didn't know dosing capsules are available for purchase separately.”
“It grinds the bud very well, however, the threads are pretty bad. Unscrewing it to remove the bud or capsules causes it to lock tight like it is cross threaded.”
“Firstly, the good bits:
-Nice weight to it.
-Looks good.
-Pieces lock together well and haven't had any stiffness.
-The curved edge of the bottom piece is helpful in picking up material.
-It does succeed at the specific task its designed for-filling dosage pods.
The not so good bits:
-It doesn't actually grind that well. Teeth are generic shape and whilst they're sharp for now, I don't seeing them lasting any longer than a 20 grinder.
-Using it to fill the pods is quite fiddly. The pods have to be put in upside down and you have no idea how filled they are until you take them out and look. If you only want to fill a few, you cant as the material just goes through the other holes and ends up in the bottom chamber, not in the pods. Would be great if there was a way to open up each pod holder individually to fill.
-If you're not using it to fill pods, then its a standard (albeit $70) grinder.
Summary
Is it worth it? at $70, probably not. But then it does fulfil a specific task it was bought for and it is better than hand filling each pod, so it probably is worth it...
I'm on the fence, but if it was $50, then I'd probably feel a bit better about it.”
