“The Simple Dimmer is a great addition to have. I installed one in my living room and bedroom. However, if you have a ceiling fan you may notice a humming or low frequency sound consistently coming from it. This only occurs when the dimmer is not set to max brightness. If you are using this switch for a room with ceiling fans you may hear sound coming from the fan. Other than that the switch is great to have if you want to dim your lights.”

Sounds like you've noticed a little humming from your simple dimmer when using it to control your fan. Just so you know, these are usually designed for lights only but we are on the verge of releasing our fan speed controller very soon.
In fact, I'll add you to the email list so you know when. We recommend replacing this with our fan speed controller instead when it's available or using the simple rocker toggle switch that was in the home when you moved in to avoid any future issues.
