Oh wow! This really was bad. Starting with insulting Pablo Picasso and his fellows artists with Cubism. As interior designers, we should be insulted. We all receive valid educations with established principles of design, going around the world to expose ourselves to different cultures and philosophies, working from bottom up in various forms and design practices, taking many courses to continue our education…. Maybe he should have been vetted better. And definitely get a much better art history and history education before trying to lecture us on inclusive design. Which by the way, I’m any design practice, absolutely the client… which means people, breathing humans, are always involved in the process.

We appreciate your feedback and hope to continue the discussion with you. The course shared many positive insights on the benefits of relying on our sense of humanity to design inclusively and to communicate respectfully with each other as a community of practitioners. The analysis of Design Education, which your comments reference, was intended to provoke thought, not insult as suggested. Cultural appropriation in design happens in many intentional and unintentional ways, the point reinforced by the course reminds professionals to approach cultural inclusion with mindfulness. Please do not hesitate to reach back out to us to set up a time to continue this conversation. We appreciate your feedback and your willingness to engage. Thank you.
