Hi Walter, We appreciate your feedback. Unfortunately, this is standard across many lighting industries. From offroad vehicle lighting to amber bulbs for porch lighting, they all drop in brightness when a yellow, amber, or red translucent cover/bulb is placed over them. Even colored bulb filaments and LED’s with the same power output to white will be dimmed. Thanks for your review and have a great day!

“It would be nicer to have red LEDs in the kit. These filters reduce the transmitted light to a large degree. If the tent was not so dark we could lower the intensity of the light and still see the same. Would like to be able to buy a couple of red filters instead of a 3 pack. Using the Red and orange. It's good that you can put these on the tripod and then lift them into place when needed. EG: Cook dinner under white light then lift the filters into place while hanging out.”
