It works pretty well. Very sensitive to limbs and leaves moving, but it triggers the light. Great for camp security.

Being able to have the ability to control the amount of light and the frequency has been extremely beneficial during my camping excursions. The motion sensors have made a great addition to my Devos lights.

Wish you had a motion sensor for the light ranger 800. I had to buy a 1200 to be able to use the motion sensor which works wonders.

It seems like it is the simplest things in life that give us the most joy. When I was asked to test the motion sensor for the Light Ranger I was happy to do it, but I really didn't know how I would use it. I was also worried the motion sensor would reduce the runtime of the light because of its power draw. I couldn't have been more wrong. The motion sensor uses almost no electricity but saves a lot of energy by turning the light off and on automatically so it isn't running when it isn't needed. The result has been that it has extended the runtime. On the job site, I really like having the light turn itself on and off automatically. And when camping it provides light only when needed and even acts like a proximity alarm at night to alert me when animals or people enter the campsite. And the way the sensor attaches to the tripod is genius—just push on and pull off. I'm now using the light in my house in a room that has the light switch is positioned inconveniently. The only nitpick I have is that the Time and Sensitivity knobs are difficult to adjust with gloves on. The motion sensor makes an already great product even better.
