“It’s abovious The designers of this light know theres a design flaw for the tripod base, otherwise they wouldn’t be selling it. It’s listed on their website as “Replacement Tripod Base†not “tripod base†because the base is crap and anyone who already bought one is most likely having to replace the damn thing. The tripod is made of cheap aluminum, God forbid a light breeze blows your light over and the tripod gets banged up and useless. If you have kids, tie them to a tree so they don’t knock this thing over. You get what you pay for, this company makes more money from selling its accessories and cheap tripods, than it does from selling light unit. Don’t get me wrong this is a cool concept for the light, However, if this is meant to be for those outdoors, rugged folks, you can’t build a product using cheap material. I’d rather pay more and know that I have a reliable and quality product that is dependable when I need it to be.
Don’t just take my word, read the other reviews about the base.
Shout out to Donavan in CA. Sorry!!!”
“I love the light, but the base is absolute junk. It broke after being just kicked by a duty boot and not hard at all. Cheap plastic cracked off right around the rivets. Didn't even survive a weekend. Hopefully they will improve the material in the future.”
“I use a pair of these for camping but also for illuminating Search and Rescue Command Post locations at night. The tripods work really well on hard surfaces and also on top of parked vehicles. I set them on top of my truck topper which puts the light almost 20 feet off the ground and it lights up a huge area.”
