“My 3 star rating and review is an honest apparaisal of the whole experience, not simply the control board quality or performance (which is fine). The review concerns the performance of Direct Pool Supplies, and is a case of "bouquets and brickbats". Firstly, the purchase and delivery was great. The goods were sent promptly, and arrived much sooner than I anticipated. Also, I was pleased to see that it was well-protected in plenty of bubblewrap and inside an oversize box, all of which ensured the PCB was in perfect condition. Well done. Now the brickbats. There was no documentation in relation to the installation setup of the PCB. My first call to you was answered by a young lady who undertook to have someone call me back. That didn't happen, so a couple of days later I called again and spoke to a young man who advised that it was ready to go, as is. It wasn't.
After an extensive search on Google, I found the control board being offered on eBay (in the US, if I recall correctly). The description of the goods included (pretty garbled) instructions about the trimpot that needed to be adjusted to achieve the correct current output for my C140 chlorinator. It was enough to point me in the right direction, and the chlorinator is now working as it did 23 years ago when I bought it. All's well that ends well, I suppose.”
