This is one of the best dot grid journals I have tried (and i’ve tried a lot!) the paper is so nice and there is no ghosting with any of my pens. I can even get away with some watercolour paints. I love it!!

I love this journal so much. it is such good quality and the grey with ivory pages looks so classy (and makes all my amateur bullet journal spreads look fancy!). The pages are a perfect thickness with no bleed through, and haven't reactly badly to glue, stickers, washi tape or coloured pen. This is my new go to bullet journal supplier and I am so excited to use my Dotgrid jounal for my spreads this year!

I have a couple of other brand 160gsm bullet journals so I wanted to see how this one compared. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed! The journal arrived in a beautiful understated black gift box, with the DotGrid logo embossed with a slight sheen. I went for the grey journal and although the colour was slightly more stone colour than tonal grey, it is very nice (I am fussy about colour tones). The journal has a soft touch vegan leather cover which is slightly padded, giving it a tough of luxury. The cover is again very understated and classy with a small DOTGRID embossed on the rear. It comes with all the things you would expect, such as an elastic close, pen holder, ribbon page finder and a little pocket in the back for storage. The pages themselves are more of an ivory colour rather than bright white with dot grid spacing in grey. The pages are stitch bound and look to be very sturdy in comparison to some of my other journals. The journal opens and lays flat from front to back, which for me is important when using it as an art journal. The 160gsm paper should hold up to whatever I like to do in my art journals, and as such I went straight in for a painted layout to really put it to the test. I used a mixture of gouache paints and the A&O acrylograph pens to create a full page coverage. I was very impressed to see absolutely no bleed through or ghosting. I was even more impressed by the lack of wrinkling. Most pages when subject to paint or any other water based medium will start to wrinkle and curl. The pages in this DotGrid journal displayed almost no wrinkling at all, If I am being super fussy then there is a very, very slight puckering but that will soon flatten out when the book is closed. Overall I am very impressed with this journal, and would recommend it to all that will listen. Now all I need is a journal with black pages (hint, hint!).
