This is a classic Gibson ‘A’ style copy mandolin, built from all solid timbers with a name behind it that represents quality and incredible value for money. It is the classic ‘F’ hole built with a solid spruce top and solid maple back and sides. It has a full mandolin sound with ample volume, clear bright and a lot of ‘punch’ and projection. The tone and volume will also improve with age as the selected solid tonewoods mature. The Body Assembly… The back and sides of the body are dark stained maple with white protective binding on front and back. The back is a classic ‘flat back' construction built from solid maple. The arched top is solid spruce with double ‘F’ holes. The top is fitted with an adjustable rosewood compensated bridge, black/white edged scratch-plate and a classic 'Gibson' style ‘A’ gold plated tailpiece with engraved cover. The tailpiece is designed to accept loop end strings. The soundboard has a distinctive vintage sunburst finish. The Neck Assembly… The neck is mahogany and is fully bound with black side dot markers; the profile of the neck is comfortable to play …not too narrow! It is fitted with a rosewood fingerboard, nickel silver frets and pearl dot markers. The headstock has an attractive pearl inlay ‘Ozark’ on an ebony facing and is fitted with gold plated flat-plate geared machine heads with cream plastic buttons.
