“I love the Neumann U47fet. Although it sits in the shadow of its illustrious valve predecessor, I find it superb in so many situations. I first aquired one in 1985 as the main presenter microphone in my home DJ studio. In my days as a presenter on BBC local radio I had a very understanding chief engineer who was happy for me to exchange the Beyer M201 in the main studio for my beloved 47 when on air! I now own three U47fet mics. The first is an early model with the cardioid symbol on the front reversed. The second is my 1985 model and I now have my collector's edition purchased from Eastwood Sound and Vision recently. By the way the Beyer M201 is a great value for money all purpose mic!”
