The EGW Ball Head Long 1911 Disconnector is the best disconnector for your 1911.
The EGW Ball Head 1911 Disconnector offers many benefits over our competitor's disconnectors:
Our disconnector is machined taller so that it doesn't drag on the sear pin - this is important when you are doing trigger work under 2-1/4 lbs since you can feel the slightest drag.
We added the ball head to get rid of the "click" usually found on 1911s caused by the head moving back and forth in the frame hole - usually gunsmiths stake the frame hole trying to minimize the play in an attempt to remove this click. The ball head is a better solution to this problem.
We also altered the geometry of the disconnector so that it is not tripped when inserting a loaded magazine. This could cause an accidental discharge when reloading with a live round in the chamber. This alteration allows for an additional safety upgrade in your 1911.
The bottom spade incorporates a small .006 corner radius so that the disconnector does not dig into the trigger bow and it improves functionality.
We machine the HD 1911 Disconnector in one of our machining centers. They then go off to Vacu-Braze in Trumbauersville, PA for vacuum heat treat, which is less stressful than conventional heat treating. Our disconnectors are then sent to another local company to be black oxide coated.
We are unable to ship this item outside of the United States.

Like all EGW products the Disconnector I needed was perfect. I have two slides for my 1911 Bullseye frame. One slide worked perfectly with the disconnector that came with it. The other slide would not allow the hammer to stay locked back after recoil. The scallop for it was .008" deeper. The EGW part, being correctly machined, worked perfectly with both slides and all is good with the world. Thanks Guys!
