The takedown hole in the guide rod allows for easy disassembly/reassembly.The head of the guide rod has smooth beveled edges to make for a seamless look.All kits are drop-in.This guide rod kit is made for the Rock Island BBR 3.10" .45ACP.This kit uses a 1/4" diameter guide rod, flat wire ISMI spring, and our fully machined reverse plug.In independent testing, ISMI spring have endured in excess of 100,000 compression cycles. We don’t recommend going that long between changes however. With an ISMI spring, practice routine maintenance and change it once a year. Warning: This product may be alloyed with trace amounts of lead and other elements which are known to the State of California to cause reproductive harm and cancer. “I actually bought the 9mm version of the guide rod kit. The .45ACP and 9mm Rock Island "Baby Rock" pistols have generally the same exterior dimensions, with different bore diameters, different magazines, etc. EGW replaced the .45ACP spring with a 9mm spring and the updated guide rod kit arrived ready to go. The pistol worked flawlessly with the EGW guide rod kit installed. In addition, it is MUCH easier to disassemble and reassemble the pistol with the EGW kit than with the factory double-stacked springs.”

“Just a note for the new RIA BBR 9mm. The same guide rod George manufactured for my RIA BBR .45acp is a drop in for the 9mm also. Just ran 100rds through the 9mm zero issues. Thank You for a great fix Armscor should have addressed already but they haven’t.
