Picatinny cross slots run the full length of the rail, which gives the shooter flexibility when mounting scope rings and other accessories. The channel in the center reduces the overall mass of the mount. Also, in many cases, it will not obstruct usage of factory iron sights. Our one-piece scope mounts are the obvious choice for hunters and tactical shooters alike. We machine these in our shop using one of our machining centers. After machining, the mounts are tumbled, sand blasted, and Type II anodized for long lasting durability. Installation: We recommend 20 inch lbs of torque and a drip of blue loctite (loctite is available through our website and is sold separately). We recommend:0 MOA - if shooting 0-500 yards20 MOA - if shooting 500-1000 yardsWhen zeroing your rifle with a 20 MOA mount, we recommend zeroing at 200 yards. “Great quality and detail machining. Aluminum is easy to modify if firearm is already drilled and tapped or if the contours do not line up on the rear of the action near the bolt handle slot.”

“My old Leupold one-piece base for my sporterized M98 big ring Mauser had to be replaced because the rear scope ring screw stripped out and destroyed the threads. Unfortunately, the new Leupold base I ordered DID NOT fit; Leupold has changed the design shape from the old one, which would have required me to do some grinding to make it work. Thank goodness for EGW!!! Your scope base fit my sporterized M98 big ring Mauser exactly!!! No grinding required!!!”

“These are the perfect solution for most Mauser jobs where the customer already has had it D&T for two piece bases by God knows who with God knows what Stone age method. The singe rear hole more often than not, will drop right in between the two existing holes and cover the other two. Beats welding up the receiver and killing the heat treat. Very smart move EGW.”

“Bought this for a 1944 Nazi Mauser 98, with base holes of unknown origin. Base lined up perfectly with the holes and tightened right down. Love the multiple cross slots for varying scope position and a solid mounting. I only buy EGW for any of my guns and haven't been let down yet.”
