If your revolver is not drilled and tapped this mount will not work. The best way to verify that it is/is not drilled and tapped is to open the cylinder and check the rib underneath. There should be through holes that are drilled and tapped. If there are not (like the above image) this mount will not work without you having the gun drilled and tapped. You can have a competent and qualified gunsmith drill and tap the top strap with the standard S&W hole pattern which will allow you to use our mount. You can take our mount off and replace your rear sight at any time. “3rd EGW product very well thought out.Easy to install! Put it on aS&W 327TRR8 and mounted a Steiner MPS ( Docter foot print)!Cant stop smiling! The BEST!”

“I had an early red dot that I put on my revolver many years ago with a weaver mount that I had made up for it. That mount was about a half-inch higher than the new EGW mount as well as the early red dot being taller, it worked but was not instinctive at all. This new mount is well thought out and considerably more natural and comfortable to shoot”

“I am not using this product, I have set it aside. Maybe sell it at a gun club swap meet. There are two problems: 1. This does not cover the front of the open sight channel. One of the screw holes there is also exposed. Ugly visuals on the revolver. This was not described in the literature. 2. The mount only picks up one of the three pre-drilled holes in the top strap. About 3-4 months ago EGW said they were changing the design to pick up two of the three holes. Unfortunately, the one I received was the old design. I am not comfortable at all with a single screw holding the sight on. I bought an EGW Picatinny rail next. I installed that (using all 3 holes!), only to find out that a substantial gap remained between the recoil lug and the back of the frame. So, sorry to say that came off and got chucked in the spare parts bin too. My Hex Dragonfly is now comfortably and securely mounted with a Brand X mount...”
