After having tested out the EKO Duo stethoscope for a couple weeks and returning it, I must say that this really is the best stethoscope I have ever used. I can clearly hear almost all lung sounds and the noise reduction is just amazing. I can take all of my manuals BP's and hear murmurs that couldn't be heard with a regular stethoscope. I've developed a newfound appreciation for listening to lung and heart sounds.

Heart sounds are much improved but lung sounds do not give an advantage over traditional scope

Tinnitus has prevented me from really hearing heart sounds like I used to. I feared this purchase would be a disappointment. It is not! It’s amazing! Excellent product!

I have now used 3 different digital stethoscopes for over 10 years , and I can saw with complete confidence that the EKO core is the absolute best. It has excellent sound resolution and volume. I can hear heart sounds like never before. It is an absolute necessity to utilize this stethoscope in the practice of cardiology, and medicine in general. There is nothing better.

So I'm still getting used to my new toy, the Core digital stethoscope. I have been using a Littman Cardiology II for almost 30 years! The Eko is so far, not as good if you listen without the sound amplification on. For example if you are listening through clothing or pressing too hard you basically hear nothing. Whereas with the Littman, you can hear very well without regard to how you are holding the device against the patient's body. However, the sound amplification from the Eko is remarkable! You can get an exquisite exam, especially if you are trying to hear a subtle murmur. I'm an anesthesiologist, so I have to get a quick heart and lung exam on all my patients in often noisy conditions where they are not necessarily positioned well for auscultation. So for this reason, I love the Eko and certainly recommend people try it!!!

With a combination of age-related hearing changes and a work environment that always includes a level of background noise, the EKO makes it easy to hear previously difficult to assess sounds on an exam.

I'm the owner of the previous model, which, in my opinion, was already better than most others. My only concerns then were noise isolation and size. Well, this current device is near perfect. It is literally a pleasure to use. I can easily differentiate all the thoracic noises with little abdominal signs infiltration. It works incredibly well through clothes, again, by allowing for clear differentiation between external and internal sounds. Finally, larger individuals are not a challenge anymore. The material is higher grade, it's design ergonomic. The one critique I do have is that it is much shorter than the previous one and the tubing seems to be of a stiffer material. I switched it to the tubing from the previous version but would otherwise recommend using the core with your preferred stethoscope. Otherwise, this is an amazing tool and as a pulmonary provider with one sided deafness I think this to be the best option among electronic stethoscopes. I have used most of them.
