I thought I would immediately love this but I didn't. It picks up every little movement noise so there is a lot I have to filter out, particularly when listening to lung sounds. I prefer my cardiology 3 stethoscope for lung sounds. I am getting used to it though. I find turning the volume down for lung sounds helps. The few times I've tried to get EKGs with it, I had a very hard time getting a clear signal either because of body hair or body shape/size.

I bought the CORE 500 with the standard or free app to see the 3-lead ECG. I needed to upgrade to Eko+ so I can make recordings for the patients chart and I think it's worth it so far.

I love my Eko Core 500. As an out of hospital EMS provider I has experienced recent hearing loss. The amplification of my Eko stethoscope has allowed me to hear confidently in a moving ambulance again. My only suggestion or recommendation for future models would be to improve the twist lock connection where the audio wire connect to the Eko chest piece. I have found mine is twisting easily and has recently detached. Because of this I almost lost my chest piece in a patients house. Not much of a problem in th3 clinic setting, but for emergency medicine keeping the two pieces secure is a must.

This is a fabulous tool for a practicing physician. I hear things better than I’ve heard before, and the subtlety of a low-grade murmur are much easier to evaluate. The EKG is a nice feature, but what I would really like to see is the actual digital tracing on the stethoscope when I’m listening to the patient, Not have to go look at my phone. The other thing that would be really great would be to have the instrument Bluetooth to a speaker, so patients can hear what we’re listening to. Maybe there’s a way to do that that I’m not aware of, but that would be asubstantial upgrade in my view.
