Currently using this in the field on an ambulance. So far the DUO and Stethoscope have been wonderful in practice. Noise cancellation of the headphones is excellent. I wish that the DUO could get rid of some of the background noise that you don't want but you'd lose some of the capabilities of the DUO and so far it has worked well. Still adjusting to use of the single ECG in the field compared to the need for a 4 or 12 lead but it has offered a good starting place for patients. I would love to see a slimmer version, thickness wise on the next one compared to the current. The length is not much of an issue at all.

I struggle very much with the loudness in my ear that is extremely painful and intolerable and therefore unable to use it as it is intended to be. I would like to return and get my money back please

Actually I'm a nurse who bought the EKO DUO to monitor my own heart, not to use for other patients. I tend to go into paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. Usually my rhythm is sinus bradycardia. I like it but I find the gain on the EKO DUO ECG is small. I also can't view the recorded strip on my phone offline or send it to my fellow nurse friend to discuss n compare.

Using the Duo is quite easy. The increase in volume of heart AND lung sounds is gratifying. In some patient I cannot hear well whether using the Duo over clothing or on the skin. There seems to be some artifact using the Duo for EKG tracings. Hair may be a factor. The guide states to use gel, which I have not tried yet. There does seem to be a proclivity towards background noise from my fingers on the device or the arms of the scope moving about.

Thanks for taking the time to evaluate our device and for writing us a review! We recommend placing the DUO on direct skin to ensure the highest quality readings. Gel will definitely help as well. Let us know at support@ekohealth.com if you run into any issues.

The app sink to iPhone is seamless and instant. I believe there is a learning curve. The sensor has to be directly over the heart. Not sure how it will sense on thick tissues interface, such as individuals with large mammary glands or significant obesity.

Thanks for the feedback James! There are a couple DUO placements you can try to get a good ECG reading for different body types. For this case, we recommend placing the DUO higher on the chest, right below the clavicle. You can also try the finger tips method! Send us a message at support@ekohealth.com if you need additional support! We’d love to help.

My hearing isn't what it used to be. I was missing subtle sounds, including soft rales. I purchased a Littman amplified stethoscope and it helped, but it wasn't optimal. After about 1 year, it needed to be sent back for repair as it would spontaneously turn off. The EKO Duo is a much better device. It amplifies better than the Littman and I am able to hear the sounds I was having difficulty with or missing altogether. I highly recommend this device.

I am evaluating this instrument for use in the EMS world, particularly at the EMT level to produce better sound on the road as well as an instrument to provide a record, always important. We're still evaluating and if you have some input we'd be glad to hear it .. We hope to train to the EKG level (I'm a doc and I use it) but that is not yet reflected in EMT training.
