“I really like Read with Ello. My daughter is 8 but is very behind in reading due to speech problems mixed with ADHD. It is great that we were able to choose a level for her instead of it being based on her age or grade level. She has had her ups and downs with the app but is coming around and is enjoying it for the most part. I have noticed that she is more interested in reading in general since starting on the Read with Ello journey with her. The main thing we have struggled with a little bit is that the app sometimes doesn’t “hear” her. She will read a sentence almost perfectly and her progress bar will not move and she will have to repeat the sentence multiple times which becomes frustrating for her. There have been times that, because of her speech, the app will not register a word she has tried very hard to pronounce correctly. I understand this is not an app for children with speech difficulties so that part is understandable. All in all, we are happy that we have found this program for her and will continue to use it to help her move forward.”

“She is still getting the hang of reading but Ello has made it easy to do. She still is not at the point of excitement yet but I see it every time she completes a book. Its the initial worry that gets her a bit nervous. This app is genius! I can't wait to write a follow-up review once she is confident in her efforts.”

“It's great to have my daughter reading on her OWN! It use to be very difficult for her to read with me/to me. I'm not an educator so, it was a battle to get her to read and then I would be impatient with her when she was struggling, our time was not effective. The stress was not good for either of us. With Ello, it's been a 180! I ask her to read and she gets the help when she needs it in a relaxed nurturing way. We're looking forward to our next set of books!”

“My son is autistic and behind with reading. He's very into technology and this has been a perfect tool to spark excitement in reading. The only issue we have come into is that his tablet's microphone had a hard time hearing him. We got an inexpensive external microphone to fix this issue.”

“My child who thrives on gamified tasks loved earning stars throughout the book. It encouraged him to keep going. He read his first chapter book unassisted!”
