“My son is excited to read with ello but he won’t correct him if he read a word wrong and it won’t let him choose what word he needs help with. It is an awesome concept. I hope they can improve on what I mentioned”

Thank you for this helpful feedback! We are working to make improvements to the app! In terms of correcting errors, Ello is always available to support kids via the question mark (and then clicking the word they need help with)! One note: Did you know that how we respond to errors while our children read can make a huge difference in their willingness to keep reading? Ello uses best practices to make sure we strike the balance between making sure kids learn from errors, and keeping them motivated and engaged. This one may be a surprise for parents, but literacy specialists know that correcting every error will frustrate kids. While we will bring kids back to review words they miss at the end of the page, we won’t do this for EVERY error, this is purposeful. Remember: if a child is at the right level, they should only be making one error on every two pages. More than that means the book is too hard. I hope this helps!

“Reading with Ello is not trivial. This is the most awaited time for my child. It is an exciting, fun and anticipatory reading time with Ello. I got Ello recommended by a friend, and I recommend Ello to other friends. If the variety of gifts delivered each month with a book is wider, my child would not be able to escape from Ello.”

“I love receiving the monthly box of books. My son has improved in reading. They only downfall is reading the app when it doesn’t understand him and will not move forward. That can be frustrating for him. So we read the books without the app.”

“Ello was the motivation boost we needed to help us get into a better reading routine. I also loved the exposure to various books from the monthly box. It has been a great experience and I am so glad I tried it. Most importantly I can see a marked improvement in my son's confidence and abilities.”

“We received our first Ello box and after explaining it to my son Gavin he seemed interested but not too thrilled. We’ve had issues with trying to get him excited to read. After reading the first book with Ello he turned to me and said “Mommy I want to keep reading!” I was close to tears to hear him say that. He did so well and he easily followed Ello’s directions if he needed assistance with certain words. I’m so glad I chose to move forward with Ello! Thank you so much! Gavin can’t wait for next months books!”
