“I live in the hot, humid south and have two very special senior horses. The shampoo effectively removes all the dirt and sticky sweat, and rinsed off easily. My horses are spoiled so I set my hose up to heated water from our house and use luke warm water.
This is the only shampoo I've used that didn't seem to agitate them during the shampooing process. The sheath and udder cleaner was amazing! It removed all the sticky buildup in their udder quickly, and left their sensitive skin feeling soft. I did not have to scrub, and again, my mares did not mind it at all. The gunk slipped right off their skin.
This was also the first time I've used a conditioner for their mane and tail. It worked nicely and I was able to comb through easily when finished. In the past I used coconut oil, which works well, but until it completely soaks in attracts dirt.
I used the wound treatment on Lucy when she reacted to insect bites inside her ears. She was very cooperative and it has soothed the significant irritation caused from the bites. She now leaves her fly mask with ears on rather than doing everything possible to remove it, so she's finally realized it's there to help her. I do not leave the mask on during the night as I feel anything left on a horse unsupervised can cause a potential injury if they get hung up on something. The wound treatment keeps the insects out of her ears at night. The zinc oxide based treatment is working well on their pastern dermatitis due to our rainy conditions in August. It is something I have to check for daily. They're Florida Cracker horses and do best living outdoors in their pastures 24/7, with run in shelters and plenty of oak trees provided for shade and shelter. Fortunately, they haven't suffered from rain rot, but if I do see a questionable spot on their skin the lotion knocks it out within two days.
I've used the fly spray for a few years now and like that it's effective without irritating their fragile skin. I apply the fly spray in the evening when the sun is about to set to ensure the oils in it don't become irritating due to direct sun when they're grazing. That's a practice I feel is wise with any oil based product.
I haven't had any thrush or white line disease so have not had to use that product so far. It's handy to have on hand just in case.
I'm very pleased with these products. I"ve been increasingly concerned about using the toxic horse products being marketed to us, not only on behalf of my horses, but exposure to myself as well. I'm thankful the Equiderma products are available.”
“I was super excited when I received my products this weekend. That same day I went down to the barn and brought all the products with me. I gave my horse a bath with the shampoo and conditioner. When I was done her coat was shiny and soft. So much so every person that passed me in the barn was told to come and feel her coat. At least 5 people asked to see the products and were reviewing the ingredients. After their review a few of them even said they may purchase based on what they were seeing.”
