“i bought both the lotion and the zinc. used both the first time and the scratches are gone. the lotion seems to go on smoothly and a little goes a long way. i am impressed because i have tried many things already and i am so tired of dealing with scratches and worrying about my horse. thank you!!”
“I've only used it for a week. My horse's symptoms seem to be holding steady and not worsening. My complaint is that it's very difficult to apply to my horse's belly, where the sores are. I'd love if this lotion came in a cream consistency so it would be easire to apply to the underside of a horse.”
Hi Laura,
We make a paste version of our skin lotion for this reason! It is called Equiderma Zinc Oxide Paste and is most often used for Scratches. It shares most of the ingredients of our skin lotion, with zinc added, which doubles as a sunscreen for sensitive horses. Give us a call at 800-573-1020 or email info@equiderma.com so you can tell us more about what's going on with your horse and we can make sure you're using the right product for the issue :)
Here is a link to the Zinc Oxide Paste if you'd like to find out more about it:

“This lotion has helped my horses so much! I have used it on Cannon Crud and it healed in just a matter of days! My mare just recently got rain rot (or rain scald) and we did the neem shampoo and have been putting lotion on her for a day or two and already seeing large improvements in the healing direction! Love this stuff and so happy to have a second bottle on hand!”
“Equiderma's skin lotion works like MAGIC on scratches, rain rot, dandruff, cannon bone, ear and face crud! It is truly the best skin treatment on the market!”
“Using it on what maybe called cannon crud. Am using it in combination with some other medications. The cannon crud as I call it is very hard to get rid of and spreads as you heal one section of it. But the skin lotion in combination with the others things I am using seems to be working well, its is just taking a long time.
The other medications I am using are: Vetercin anti fungal shampoo letting it set for 10 minutes then rinse that off, then Betadine let it set for 15 minutes then rinse and dry then apply Willard Water undiluted, then Your Skin Lotion. this is used on my horse's leg in the cannon area. The cannon crud started this fall and I have been working on it all winter and have just about got it healed......I hope)-:”
“There are important items that I keep in my barn and Equiderma is definitely top shelf! Having 5 horses of all different breeds and ages, someone is always coming down with an itch or fungus some place. The best lotion for horses, it goes on so nice and penetrates right to the skin.
Equiderma is my go to !”
