Me and my gelding love love love this cleanser. I don't just use on his sheath, this is the ONLY cleanser that I use to bathe him. His skin does not react to this. Others have left him with bumps all over his body, if you have an itching horse, especially, if they are rubbing their tail try bathing with this.

I've been using this product for several years, but actually never as sheath cleaner (I leave that to my vet). I do use it regularly to keep the anal area clean from dirt, residual manure "crumbs" and stains. Primarily, I use it for my mare's teats. When I checked her for the first time years ago I was surprised at how much dirt/mud had accumulated --it must've been so uncomfortable and itchy. When I applied this for the first time I could feel her enjoying it --she stood perfectly still and really relaxed & enjoyed the process. After letting the lotion set for a while I wash her off with a soft cloth and warm water and she loves it. It leaves her skin feeling so smooth and clean. She loves her cleaning so much that when she sees me approaching with the bottle she stops whatever she's doing and "assumes the position" to get ready for her cleaning. It's our Saturday routine. :-)

I used it on my draft-cross mare that I purchased 3 months ago. Her udders/vulva was just NASTY! I don’t think she’d been cleaned in ages.I have been trying other cleansers, but nothing seemed to break through the mess, and she was very reluctant to let me touch her. I applied this, let it sit for 5-10 min, while shampooing her tail. When I went to rinse, the gunk came off in big globs and after a few nervous flicks of the tail, she realized it didn’t hurt or irritate, and she stood perfectly still. I was even able to use a sponge on the really bad areas. She is now perfectly clean, and her skin feels soft, not irritated and scabby. I’m very pleased, and I’m sure she is too!

This is the only shampoo I use on my horse. I use it to not only clean his sheath, but to also bathe his entire body. He suffers from fly bit allergy's, I think, and this shampoo keeps him from biting himself and creating sore over his entire upper legs and no longer rubs his tail. I actually found this shampoo is better than the neem shampoo.

I started using Equaderma Sheath Cleaner about 5 years ago on my Gelding and it's so easy to clean up too. My Mare gets smegma build up between her teets...for both horses, I apply Sheath clearer and gently massage it in and let it do its thing while I groom them. Sheath Cleaner breaks up the smegma and allows for easy rinse off and I can see how comfortable my horses are right away. Honestly, they know what the routine is and are willing partners to get clean !

I find Sheath Cleaner very easy to use and very gentle on my horse, with no side effects. I highly recommend this product, as it rids him of chunks of debris whenever I use it. Especially if you are riding in a dusty environment, it's essential to his health. I recently watched a friend's gelding die of cancer in his sheath...probably brought on by never having been cleaned....and hope to never see another horse go that way.
