Phenoxyethanol is a preservative and deemed safe for use in cosmetics. In our products, it is set at less than <1% to protect the efficacy and safety of our products. Without this ingredient mould, yeast and bacterial growth would be expected in 3-5 days of opening the product due to the combination of water, natural ingredients and man-made actives, affecting the integrity of the product once opened, and in turn, negatively impacting our skin and health.
Our customers safety is paramount to us, especially during pregnancy/lactation- our Formulation Team have assured us Phenoxyethanol is safe for use during this time, as there is no clear evidence to suggest otherwise. When used below 1% of the product it is classified as 'clean beauty'.
