“I've had the Ascaso Steel Duo for 2 months now and have really been enjoying it. I use it daily, sometimes more often with company. I'm coming from a Gaggia Classic and this is a universal upgrade. More consistent flow, great distribution of water at the group head, good steam pressure, consistent temps, and the analog switches are satisfying. My shots are much more consistent than what I experienced with my old Gaggia. My results feel less random with the same prep. The PID menu system is a bit dense so keep the instructions nearby. I do wish I had more flexibility with the pre-infusion but it's good enough; I keep it at 5-5, 5 sec of infusion with a 5 sec pause before the shot. I occasionally get a high-pitched noise when pulling a shot, no idea what it is and seems to have no impact. Happens every 5 shots or so, some kind of squeaking resonant vibration. Also be aware that while steaming, there's a rhythmic thumping that is completely normal, it's the pump. I've never seen this mentioned except on Reddit. Overall, I love it.”

“Solid machine that rocks. Upgraded from a souped-up early-2000s Gaggia Classic and this thing blows it away. Great steam, programmable, pre-infusion, fast heat up, dual thermoblocks, shot timer, PID, active cup warmer on top, and quiet! Just a nice user experience all the way around. My only nitpick would be that you need a 20 Amp circuit available. Most new houses might have that in a kitchen, but my old house didn't and I had to make some adjustments.”
