“This nice stainleess steel fitting works as advertised to convert an older Rancilio Sylvia V2 pump so it can use the new stainless braided water supply line. While it`s a little pricey it`s important to note this is a "BST" (British Standard Thread) / a European pipe fitting standard and something not readily available in the US (vs the "NPT" / National Pipe Thread standard in the US). The inside diameters of the stainless flex line and BST fitting are larger than the old teflon line I replaced. This fitting along with the new stainless flex hose, a new group head and adding boiler insulation resulted in a significant performance improvement with my Sylvia machine. I used heavy duty teflon pipe thread tape and doubled it over for a perfect wrap on the fitting. Note: a 4" mini crescent wrench fits the flats on the round pump shaft perfect, when you go to install the 90 degree stainless fitting.”
“Part works fine, to prevent leaks where this threads to the vibe pump on my Silvia I had to use quite a bit of Teflon tape. I got it to seal with 2 wraps of tape folded in half on the very end of the threads with 2 normal wraps over that and not over-tightening the fitting.”
