“We recommend, for our Faema E98, to also buy Faema Paper Group Head Portafilter Gasket Shims. We place the shim between the Group Head Portafilter Gasket and the Faema group head. The little extra thickness we gain from the shim allows our portafiler to operate at a right angle to our E98.
We replace the shim about 3 times as often as the Group Head Portafilter Gasket. With the low cost of these shims, that is not a problem.
Both the Group Head Portafilter Gasket and the Group Head Portafilter Gasket Shim works well for increasing the profile height of a group gasket in cases where portafilter wear causes the portafilter to engage in the group head beyond the six o'clock position.”
