“It fits and is easy enough to replace... But...
The original gasket lasted nearly two years of constant use, sometimes making upwards of twenty espressos a day. Because of this it was often left on for hours at a time, even overnight. However, this new gasket has only had a fraction of the use and didn't last even two months.
So, the question becomes, since it's inexpensive (as well as cheap) do I buy multiples and just replace them every two months or try and find a better quality product.”
“Works fine for me. Bought a couple and hope I can remember to change them a bit more frequently, having spent a morning struggling to get a hardened, grotty gasket off.
Also: Kudos for not charging shipping on accessories, especially when they're small likew this. Tired of beinf expected to pay six dollars or so for something that slips into a regular envelope!”
“The item pictured has a rounded/ beveled edge as does the OEM one, that allows air to escape as you press it in place and prevents a vacuum lock when you remove it later. The one I received has hard 90 degree edges, no bevel, it was obviously cut from an extruded rubber tube, not molded into the correct shape as is the OEM one. I have not installed it, I always keep a spare in the toolbox, but my observation is that it is made of a softer material than the OEM one. This is a low-cost, non OEM replacement. The price charged is appropriate for a quality OEM gasket, correctly shaped and made of the correct material, but not a cheap replacement thereof.”
