I replaced the grinder burrs on my eight-year-old Rancilio Rocky with Espresso Parts burrs. The improved performance is amazing. With the old worn-out burrs, I was grinding about 30% more coffee than necessary for a good 28 second pull. I have now dialed-in a grind setting of 8 vice the previous setting of 4. The screws that affix the burrs to the grinder require the same number 2 flat blade screwdriver required to remove the bean hopper. The old upper burr popped out with the push of my thumb, the lower burr needed a little prying with the screwdriver due to eight years worth of bean residue gunk. It was a half-hour job including time for vacuuming old grounds and degunking coffee resin residue. I recommend new burrs from Espresso Parts without reservation.

These burrs fit my Pasquini Moka 90 grinder perfectly. It definitely helped to have the new screws, Grindz to clean the machine out first and the how to video on espressoparts.com. Most of all John helped to match part and provided excellent advice, since this was my first time replacing burrs on my old grinder. Will defininitely be buying all my espresso parts here from now on! Thank you guys!

Why didn't I change these years ago? I never had cleaned Rocky to the burrs, and it was not a pretty sight. Nearly 20 years of insoluable coffee goo made the removal difficult. The picture shows the new burrs at top, and at first glance the old ones don't seem that worn. But if you rub your finger against both, you can feel the difference. Do yourself a favor and replace at least before 10 years; you will avoid frozen screws and a major cleanup. Yes, the burrs are relatively expensive, but nowhere near the cost of a new grinder. The new burrs have transformed this old Rocky's performance to like new.
