Rancilio Rocky - MD40 - Obel Bregant Espresso Grinder Burrs Reviews

Why didn't I change these years ago? I never had cleaned Rocky to the burrs, and it was not a pretty sight. Nearly 20 years of insoluable coffee goo made the removal difficult. The picture shows the new burrs at top, and at first glance the old ones don't seem that worn. But if you rub your finger against both, you can feel the difference. Do yourself a favor and replace at least before 10 years; you will avoid frozen screws and a major cleanup. Yes, the burrs are relatively expensive, but nowhere near the cost of a new grinder. The new burrs have transformed this old Rocky's performance to like new.

The new burrs are super easy to install and SO MUCH sharper than the old ones! My espresso tastes much better with a way more even grind. 10/10, would do again!

The burrs for my Rocky were exactly as advertised (OEM) and arrived promptly. There are a number of YouTube videos available for installing them. What none of them mention, and what's very important, is that you must use a screwdriver with a wider-than-normal blade. If you don't, there is a risk of stripping the screw slot. If that happens... well, don't let it happen.
