“5 of the 6 screws I received were the correct screws. One had a rounded top (the screws must have flat tops), which won't work. My advice is to hang onto your old screws as you might need to re-use one or two of them. It is a good idea to replace the screws every two or three times you replace the burrs as they get damaged over time (the slot gets stripped).”
“If you are changing your burrs on your Rocky, you should order these because there is roughly at 90% chance you are going to at least partially strip all the original screws removing the old burrs.”
“So, it’s a screw. Stainless steel, metric, nothing obviously special about it.
Nothing special, that is, until you realize the Eureka Mignon XL you purchased shipped from the factory using 8mm screws holding in the upper burr. That extra millimeter protrudes past the top of the burr plate, lifting the rubber hopper flange, which is supposed to fit tightly against the plate, and prevent fines from blowing into the case. It’s messy.
Now assuming you know what the problem is, you decide to head down to the nearest hardware store or three, looking for a M4x7 screw. Guess what? YOU CAN’T FIND ONE. You can find 6s and 8s all day, but a 7 is considered an “unusual size” by every hardware employee I spoke with.
One can only imagine the depths of my despair, as I felt doomed to forever deal with a dusty case. The dark clouds have parted though, and with these screws installed, my only issue now is that little anti-static/anti-clumping fork in the hopper that’s a pain to access because of the display panel cable getting in the way.”
“Its the right screw - it is highly recommended to replace them with the burrs. They are in very tight and it is easy to ruin them while extracting. Doesn't pay to scrimp.”
