“It works, no more boiler leak on my Sylvia V2, but I did have to replace my group head because of peeling copper plating inside. I carefully blocked smooth the boiler mating surface at the group head to insure a good seal with the new group head. Though it`s not required, I greased the gasket (O-ring) with hi-temp silicone grease. That`s mainly because the old boiler was stuck to the group head pretty good and I intend to replace my boiler before too long because it has the old style fixed copper heating element. That`s the next project.”
“This is the second gasket I have replaced in my Miss Silvia after more than 10yrs of daily home use. I leave my Miss Silvia on all the time so it is always ready to brew. I believe this shortens the life of some parts, like the boiler gasket, but espressoparts.com has always had the part I need and gets it to me quickly. In this case, the replacement gasket appears to be the OEM part and fits perfectly.”
“I bought a used Silvia, and wanted to check everything out before I ran it. This gasket was cheap insurance for a quick boiler inspection. I probably could have used the original, but you never know what you will find until you get inside. Thanks Espresso Parts!”
