“I was looking for an alternative to a V60 and to try something different. The YAMA looked exactly what I was looking for. Beautiful to look at, but here is where it goes wrong. The markings on the side should not be in cups, but grams/oz of water. The shape of the bottom is similar to a globe which traps your coffee in the bottom unless you turn it almost upside down. When you do turn it upside down, the coffee coming out overwhelms the spout and you end up with a mess with coffee spilling. I did enjoy the difference for a change in pace of the taste brewing with a stainless filter over the V60 filters. Would be good to try different grinds and beans with each method to see what you prefer. The other difference you need to learn to adjust to is cleaning the metal filter as opposed to just dumping a V60 filter into the greens barrel. It is pretty messy to do so.”
