“As a fan of Evolve boards, I felt compelled to get a backpack from the same company. The bag does not disappoint in appearance and has a wide range of features that you’d expect from a bag in the $100-$200 price range. It’s a really useful daily companion as it contains an insulated compartment for food and drinks and the overall volume of the pack is quite large. I use mine as a weekender as well, as it can fit a few changes of clothes and a pair of shoes without trouble. My concern however is this: after owning the bag for just short of 12 months (only carrying my Carbon GT in it 3 or 4 of times) the bag showed clear signs of stress, eventually separating, along the shoulder strap seams where the bulk of the weight of the board is focused. I was just able to return the bag under the 12 month warranty, and was given a replacement. I have been informed that the replacement, however, is only protected by the warranty of the original purchase date ( now over 12 months ago) so the warranty for the new bag has effectively expired, even though it’s brand new. Because of this, I’m not prepared to put the board back in it as I suspect it’s likely to cause damage again, leaving me with a broken backpack and no protection under warranty, which seems strange, but anyway.... The backpack is great otherwise and I’d rather carry my board in hand and use the bag as an ordinary backpack.”
“Pros:
- Great form factor,
- Excellent insulated pocket for drinks,
- love the reflective on the outside.
Cons:
- Nylon on interior is not sufficiently durable. Bamboo GTR board deck surface easily tears the nylon.
- Velcro straps to carry board doesn't have enough length to secure bamboo GTR. Needed to go to bunnings for additional velcro length to reach.
- could use another interior pocket for valuables.
Overall:
Decent bag. Good form factor, but will break down quickly with use and requires a few mods if you want to carry your evolve bamboo gtr board
Great bag,”
“i Purchased the first rucksack that evolve released in March 2016 and have used it regularly for skating and cycling but always felt at £109.00 for bag was a bit steep, the new bag is still expensive at £99.00 pounds and has a keep cool department and various other handy little pockets as well as reflective writing for better vis at night instead of the back light strip version one had, and I must admit I was a little disappointed that the light wasn’t included in the new design, the newest version due to its internal pockets which keeps the inside of the bag better organised and tidy and also carry’s my stoke board with ease and is comfortable to wear, yep I’m happy with my purchase.”
“Overall a great back pack with option to carry the esk8. It fills good when wearing it and it is well made. It will be great if it had more pockets and better zips (sealed ones), and hooks or loops additions will make it the perfect backpack.”
