“This bash guard is well made except for the length of the screws connecting the crossbars to their mounts. Only a couple turns of screw thread engages with the threading in the crossbars and this is not nearly enough. I have used thread locker as recommended but I don't trust these screws to guard from any bashes so I will be replacing them with longer screws.
It looks like evolve might've intended for the screws to be longer since the threading into the crossbars is much longer than the screws, but all the screws included in the pack are the same length and I guess this is to keep installation simple?
Installation is simple enough but it would be nice to have a listing of tools required as the sockets on the included skate tool do not fit the nuts on the motor mounts and the nuts/hex drive screws are not metric.. You can use the Allen key provided with your board though.”
“The Evolve bash guard is a sensible accessory for my Carbon GTR. It protects the motors extremely well and also provides a handle for those rare occasions when I need to drag my board. It me took quite a lot longer to fit (more like an hour rather than the 5 mins in the video!) - but that's probably more about my lack of experience than anything else! It's well made and strong.”
