“I read a lot of people not liking how the battery % gone, I initially felt the same but after using it for a while I found I prefer the new battery display.
If I ride up a very steep hill the bar will quickly drop down a bit, and when I come to a stop it'll go back up again; therefore I believe it's still conveying the battery load like the previous remote. I can now see if I'm over-loading the battery at a glance. With the older remote I'd have to look at the screen just a bit longer to read the digits. And if you require accuracy you can always ride after selecting "more info" in the menu to see the voltages.
My only (minor) complaint is the clear plastic window over the LCD does sometimes causes glare/reflections making it harder to read, but you could stick some matte phone screen protector or scotch matte magic tape to fix this.
Overall love the remote, it looks good, feels good in the hand, throttle/brakes are very progressive and smooth..”
“Overall a better remote but seems to have initial connectivity issues to the point it wouldn’t connect. I looked online and pulled it apart and disconnected battery put it back together and has worked the last 2 times .
The braking feels more natural with the r2 but I feel like the old remote was more responsive with acceleration.”
